On Our Way to LA

How do you like my rhyming abilities?
The title has absolutely nothing to do with this blog, but I figured I could use it since I planned to mention that we are leaving Tuesday for LA. Therefore, you can expect a hiatus for at the bare minimum of a week and a half. Not that a week and a half hiatus is anything unusual. At least I have an excuse now.
With all that said, I will move on now. John Reagan has done absolutely EXCELLENT since Evie has entered our family. We have not had any major issues with jealousy or anything. Hallelujah. However, if he sees Evie getting a good bit of attention for something, he does it too...including hair barrettes. Since he knows where we keep the barrettes, he likes to go get them and wants us to put them in his hair. He has not learned that moderation is the key when is comes to fixing your hair. Too funny, especially since Evie can't even wear these particular ones yet.
Since Evie has experienced the taste of "adult" food, she wants it, whatever it may be, any time you are eating. And I mean she wants it. As a bargaining tool, I fixed chocolate chip cookies for Daddy one night (his favorite). Needless to say, Miss Priss screamed and screamed until she got her "own very" as John Reagan would say it. I think the picture says it all. Definitely Daddy's girl!
Back to the hair bows...this picture is for Auntie Marla who has bought half of Evie's hair bows. The other half...Fifi! I just love it!!
We took this picture after bath time the other night to commemorate Evie's growth. The first time we used this towel we couldn't find Evie in it because she was so small. Now we can't wrap the towel around her because she is so big. It's amazing how fast they grow.
John Reagan and "THE" cowboy hat. Do I need to say anymore? Even when playing basketball he can't separate from it. It's not so bad that he has to sleep in it, Thank God!
Plum Tuckered Out! She held out as long as she could. And yes Kristen, IT IS a LSU blanket. Evie has her own pink LSU blanket, but John Reagan's was on hand.
Amazing...not just one short and sweet blog, but two in a row! Is this a miracle or what? I will make up for it when we return from our trip. Have a great week!

Hair Pieces

SHORT AND SWEET! This will be my blog today...
if you can believe that.
You all know by now that kids are silly, and of course that includes John Reagan. We have some hay spread out in our yard from Thanksgiving. Seeing as how it is a rent house, we don't worry too much about the grass or lack there of. So every Thanksgiving when it comes time to fry the turkey, we have to spread some hay out so we don't track mud inside. FYI...don't worry, we don't put hay anywhere near hot grease. John Reagan likes to play in the hay, and he decided he wanted hay for hair the other day while playing with Max.

Evie girl obviously isn't quite big enough to come up with her own hair piece. This picture is for my mom, who bought her this awesome bow complete with the outfit. We tried it on the other day for good measure. Evie finally has enough hair for some little clip bows. The bows do actually stay in. Yea! The fun is truly beginning. How do you like those ham hocks?

I know this next picture doesn't fit in with my story line. Oh well! About 2 weeks ago, we went to Sir Pizza to eat supper. We messed up big time and gave Evie some crackers. I thought plain crackers were a little innocent. Boy was I wrong. We CANNOT eat now without her thinking she is supposed to have big girl food. She will scream and scream until she gets it. This I learned at Sam's the other day when John Reagan and I sat down to share some pizza. Anyhoo, here is Evie girl chomping on some big girl food.
Fun stuff! I just love how children enrich our lives in so many unique ways!
Until next time...

My Babysitters

I thought all of you ladies would appreciate me sharing my babysitter assistance with you. After all, who doesn't need a good babysitter every now and then. I can't remember what I was needing to get done, but I didn't want to leave Evie sitting up in some random place all by herself. And I didn't want her falling over and screaming without me being close by, so I improvised.
She loves bath time in her ducky. As I was taking these pictures, she started making faces like she knew she needed to pose. It was the funniest thing, especially when I would skim through the pictures super fast on the camera.

Daddy is a great babysitter too. We had to move our upstairs television into John Reagan's room so daddy could get some work done. Needless to say, John Reagan thinks you are supposed to sit in there with him when he watches a movie. This is Daddy multitasking. Yes ladies, on occasion a man CAN multitask. Just remember, it has to be simple things. Don't get too complex on them. John Reagan was playing ball until I came in with the camera. I did have to actually tell him to get in the picture this particular time. How cute!
If all else fails, big brother will take over. I had laid Evie down beside me to finish reading, and big brother thought it would be nice to "pretend" to take a nap with her. When he heard the camera flash pop up, his head popped up as well. Aww, how sweet is my little man! I sure do love my helpers around here. I personally think they are the cutest things, and I am not biased in any way whatsoever.

Snow, Snow, We Love Snow

Woohoo! More Snow! We have been waiting for it to get here. I realize that I am a week late on this blog, but what can I say. No excuses. Okay...just one. My computer!! Enough said. It is only about 50 years old (maybe just 10), but it was such a blessing when it was given to us for free. Anyway, something has happened to cause the internet to not work. Even the Comcast technician couldn't give me appropriate jargon as to the problem. Needless to say, I am now at the mercy of Greg and his computer.
Back to the snow...and more explaining. I realize most of you probably don't watch the "Backyardigans." Too bad for you. You just don't know what you are missing. After a month and a half of the winter cartoon and the song, "I love snow, I love snow," blah, blah, can't remember the rest of the words, that was the only thing going through my head for the title. And now the moment you have been waiting for...the story line. So we woke up March 1st to a winter wonderland. How fun! We did know it was coming, but we aren't morning people in this house. We didn't get outside early enough to get the really good pictures. John Reagan didn't care. He had plenty of fun! He wouldn't wear his winter boots outside. He had to have "the" cowboy boots.
A nice picture of the circle after all the kids in the neighborhood ran wild on the snow. I can't believe no one had a snowman in their yard or in the circle. What is up with that? We got enough snow for a decent snowman.
I know you probably don't care about the vehicle pictures, but this was Greg and John Reagan's source for snowballs. And we got way more snow than the build up shows. Melting has already began to set in.
John Reagan throwing a snowball. Can you see it?
If not, here is another look for you. He just can't let go of that juice.
This is where the gloves went in case you were wondering. I wish I would have had the camcorder out filming John Reagan rolling snow for the snowman. He wanted to keep adding to the snowman. I don't know where the eyes, nose, and mouth are. That is a question for Greg!
Evie didn't think too much of the snow. She hates when the wind blows in her face, and she makes the funniest faces when it does. Needless to say, she didn't care anything about checking out the snow. It was too windy for her pretty little face. Please excuse the snot running down the face.
The backyard! This way he could run loose without us having to freeze too.
He was having so much fun kicking up the snow with those awesome cowboy boots.
Duchess and Max are both very fond of the snow. Duchess doesn't look very white in the snow.
Time to warm up. I am coming to the conclusion that John Reagan might be a model in training with this pose.
Our backyard doesn't get a full day of sunlight, so we still had a good bit left over on Monday. John Reagan and I went to play some basketball in the backyard, but as far as he was concerned, that wasn't happening. He wanted to stomp around in the left over snow. He kept strutting by me saying, "I have to keep my hands in my pockets." He didn't want me putting gloves on him.

I am sorry if the pictures are a little blurry. I dropped my "big girl" camera (as Kristen calls it) and jammed the lens back in February. So now it only works on manual focus, and I can't zoom in and out with the lens. I have to move my rear now instead of the lens. Man, it's a lot of work...just joking. We are having to make do until we get our new lens ordered, and sometimes when I don't get close enough, the picture turns out blurry. I will say, not everything is falling apart in this house. Lots of stuff still works. Thank God!
