Homecoming

As promised, here are more pictures from Homecoming!

John Reagan was such a big boy about the whole thing even though he didn't want to be there. Of course the week after Homecoming we had BIG time issues with him not wanting to go to school. It started with a tummy ache. We took him to the doctor, and he was having minor issues. We took care of that; however, the crying and complaining kept on in an attempt to stay home from school. Three different days I had to literally drag him into one of the administrators office and leave him there. One day she had to hold him down to keep him there until I could leave. It progressively got better. Since the first of the year getting to school has been very interesting to say the least. John Reagan has gotten better with a few minor issues here and there. We have questioned him to no end. It seems the problem all boils down to he wants to be at home with all of the ladies. All it takes is one day of him feeling slightly under the weather, and it escalates from there. We are praying this does not continue till the end of the school year.

Averi, Evie, and I went to the Homecoming Pep Rally to see the court presented.

John Reagan cried through the whole thing just thinking about me leaving him afterwards. Thankfully I convinced him to get a hold of himself in enough time to not have too much of a red face here.

Homecoming Night was exciting for him. He had lots of fun through all the practices with the older boys. There was one in particular that gave him a great deal of attention. I was thankful for this because he was the reason I was able to leave the pep rally without John Reagan.

As you can see, Miss Lauren kept getting closer and closer.

Presentation of the Court

Ready for it to be over!

John Reagan did have a good time. He told me the Monday after that he didn't want to be the king of his class anymore. He is so funny!

The Return

Yes, it is true! It is me. I am here! You may be asking, "What happened to you?" And I am here to say, "3 kids." I don't know how it took a year for the full chaos of three kids to hit our house, but it has officially hit. I tell you, I have not been able to stay on top of anything lately. The worst part about it is I have not been too concerned either. So. not. like. me!

Christmas cards would be one of the things that has suffered in the chaos. I had good intentions, and it just never happened. I then decided I would do New Year's cards. Yea! Didn't happen either. Somewhere along the line the new year came and went without a hitch while I am standing here scratching my head. We do still love you! We haven't forgotten about you! On the contrary, we have actually been thinking about all of you lots here lately. We will do better! Since I didn't get cards out, I am at least showing you what the picture was supposed to be. These pictures are still at the photographer.

We unfortunately have not fully left the survival mode we were in for all of 2011. We are working our way out and are starting to see things return to as close to normal (for us) as possible. Greg is enjoying his new job. He is so glad to be out of the office and back on the road. He has already had some very interesting stories from the people he has met. I think I have had the hardest time adjusting and keeping up with everything, but I am getting there.

The kiddos are growing like weeds...Way Too Fast! John Reagan was elected to represent his class at the school homecoming this year. He had lots of fun (even though he won't admit it). I had lots of fun getting things together for him.
More pictures of homecoming will follow. He did have to escort a little girl. She was all about John Reagan while sitting in the chairs waiting for the festivities to start. She kept scooting closer and closer to him until they were both sitting in his chair. At one point she started fixing his hair, then she had her hand on his leg. Let's just say she was having lots of fun too. I was trying to video all of this taking place, but they noticed when I had my phone pointing toward them. I still got some funny footage.
Averi has been battling ear infections since August. Three weeks of preventive antibiotics did not help, followed by 10 days of stronger antibiotics to get rid of the newest ear infections, and we still have a sick baby. We are headed to the ENT tomorrow. Thankfully for us, Averi is a great baby even when sick. She is clingy but not fussy.
Evie is just Evie. There is not much more to say about that. She likes her space. She needs her space. And she is very vocal when she doesn't get enough space. She loves school when she gets there. On the way there is another story. She told me Thursday when I asked her what she was thinking about as we are pulling into school..."All the time you make me go to school. I am mad at you because all the time you make me go to school." When I picked her up she wouldn't come out of class and couldn't stop talking about the day. And by the way, this "all the time" is 2 days a week. Oh Lord! Lots of fun in store.
We are playing catch up with blogs and emails and touching base with everyone again. Hope to hear from all of you soon.
Love,
The Hasleys

Yep

We went to Wal-Mart about 3 weeks ago. As we are falling out of the car (is there any other way with three kids), Greg looks over and sees...

Do you think the Lord is trying to tell us something?

The funniest part about this license plate is not that it is a TN one or that it says "yep." It is the fact that it is this combination in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Jonesboro, La of all places. I mean really, "C'Mon!" A town of 5000 people (a town that if you are not from the surrounding area you don't know it exists, even if you live in Louisiana), and we see this. All I can say is: "Yep"
This has to be at the top of the "TN Inundation" List.
